Went to the Melville in for dinner with my daughter and granddaughter. We had a 3 course meal.i had to send the steak back.it tasted funny.i was worried it maybe off.the waitress gave me the menu to pick something else so I picked the hunters chicken.it wasn&#39;t what I expected but it was ok.A frozen chicken burger,some tomato paste smeared over it, topped with melted cheese.No BBQ sauce.would have been perfect in a bread roll.this is not hunters chicken in my opinion.we had a shared starter.baked cambertburt with toast.it was good.my daughter had the macaroni.that was good.my granddaughter had the fish and chips.that was good.we all had banoffee pie for dessert.that wasn&#39;t great.we didn&#39;t really enjoy our meal enough to go back.A waste of hard earned money.

Excellent bar with gr8 staff n gr8 range ov drinks definitely worth a visit, gr8 sport coverage n Gavin n Ruby make a gr8 team !!!!!

Great Bar

The best pub in Dalkeith. Good friendly atmosphere and great staff. Good range of beers and shows live football on two television screens.  Toilets clean

Simply the best

It was nice to have a pub so close to the Dalkeith Palace - Gavin was awesome and made us knowledgeable about customs in pubs in Scotland.
